A young college honey speaks out

Studenterguiden.dk met for an interview with Julie Algren Rosenlund of 21 years, who has just returned from a stay in Norway and who would like to train as a midwife. But midwifery as we know, not the easiest training to enter, so we would like to know how she was going to make ends meet for her.

Julie has lived most of his life on Funen, and as you know, Funen not the best to move from the island. But when the midwife training does not exist on Fyn must Julie move to Copenhagen, Aalborg and Esbjerg.

You would like to study as a midwife? How do you plan to study it?

"I have been to an open house event at the schools. I must first look into February or the summer of 2017 because I want to collect points for quota 2 to increase the chance to get into. I have searched in Copenhagen as my first priority, Aalborg as my second priority and Esbjerg as my third priority. "

What do you do if it becomes Esbjerg?

"It does not matter. Half of the training is practical training, so it can for example be at OUH. "

Do you have friends in the towns you have sought training in?

"No not really. And I also do not know the cities, but I assume that you learn the city a little to know the local to get the class to start at the studio, and then comes on a pub crawl and fresher trip. So I'm fresh on an adventure. "

"Maybe I am also a high school stay or a stay abroad more before I start training."

Have you thought about a particular college?

"Yes, I have contacted Rønde High School, which has a nursing / medical line which is very relevant to their training. When I have been there, I can write it on my resume and point to it. "

What are you doing until you start at the school?

"Until then, I have a job.   I want to save money for college and maybe find a cheap room. It costs about 35,000 for the stay at the school. "

"If I get enough points with school stay, I must take the nursing program, which is a slightly longer way to becoming a midwife, but I still have to do, if that's what it takes."

What is your plan when you finish trainingt?

"I would like to find an apartment in the city I move to and work in a hospital for some years. Then my dream to start my own midwife clinic once I have accumulated enough experience. "

7 tips for fledgling students

When you are going on with their lives and find your ideal studio or dream, follow these few simple tips:

  • Find an education in a field that interests you. Take possibly a test here , to find the areas you care about.
  • Clarify whether you need to take additional courses, studying abroad or the like, to be admitted to your dream studio.
  • Once you know what cities you can take the program in, write you up in various housing associations and colleges in good time so that you have the greatest chance of getting a place to live when you move.
  • Plan whether it is your prospective student city you will stay in afterwards. It can be difficult to told beforehand & aring; nd, but often meet a girlfriend on the study and is perhaps also for the city to have moved to, so you'll be staying.
  • Visit the city in advance so that you learn the little know. General sightseeing is a good way to get to know the city. Find possibly also more information about the city on the municipality's website.
  • Consider whether you can live your SU alone.
  • Rather than take the SU loan is clearly an advantage to take a student next. There is nothing as annoying as having to pay off a loan for 20 years after graduation, if you could expand its network with a job. At the same time you can live a little more on the green branch and invite your new friends in town more often.

Good luck to spread their wings and take on new adventures.
