Spanish is the third most spoken language in the world thus surpassed only by English and Chinese. It is registered as the mother tongue of no less than 470 million people. Spanish is spoken in all the continents of the world and is the official language in 21 countries. This is the Spanish one of the most important trading language, as it opens the market for 500 million people and serves as one of the official languages of the world's seven major international organizations. Finally, Spanish is essential to if one wants to understand the history, culture and politics today as well as it was in the past.
Under Spanish study, you will become aware of the history, society formations, politics, media, science, art, literature, film and so much more like the Spanish-speaking world offers. You will both have to study today's society in Spain and the Spanish speaking countries in Latin America and their history. But the basis for this is of course the actual language, Spanish. Including its history, development and construction. The spoken language in practice, understanding of written texts, translation from Spanish to Danish and vica versa must also be mastered. You gain thus substantial expertise in intercultural communication in the widest sense.
It is a great advantage to some Spanish before starting the program. Any traveling in Spanish speaking countries is not a bad ballast to carry around. The teaching takes place namely in Spanish.
The teaching method of the study is varying. However, it is through that as a student is an active participant in class. You will, for example. would hold presentations both individually and in groups.
As a Spanish student, you expect to go on studying Spanish speaking countries, as it is incredibly important for the training that you have worked with culture and language "on the spot".
Spanish at the graduate level builds on lessons from bachelor. You improve your grammar and pronunciation significantly, and learn to master complicated language problems and quirks. You study also in some specific social issues that in most cases derive their sources in the original language, Spanish.
At the master's of Languages and International Business Communication (As the program name in Aalborg) extends your professional spectrum to cover PR combined with international marketing communications. There are of course still focus on Spanish and Latin American relations and markets.
