Like working with people? Advise families and do social work? Then you should consider reading a social worker. Social worker program is a 3-year bachelor degree where the weight is evenly distributed on the theoretical and practical training with very project-oriented work.

Family situations can be very complicated in Denmark.

Often there is a conflict to be resolved for that family life can continue. Here comes a social worker to good use. The social worker is a person who must have a special personality to be able to cope with the task. It is often a listening type, which analyze and understand people and their situation.

In training you receive training in everything from social legislation and organization. It is important that you have a good ability to familiarize yourself with the issues, both social and legal. Some problems can not be solved without taking the law in his hand and whether one party finds the solution unjust, they must appease the law.

You learn why a lot of theories and methods in social work and learn to meet people where they are and respect them, so they feel accepted and recognized and will open up their problems and challenges.

In the video below explains a few students at Aalborg University how they see education as a social worker and what they have plans when they are completed.

If you take the training as a social worker, it is because you are passionate about helping people who have it hard. People who do not have such a large network also has more need external help than people with a large network. It is about helping the most vulnerable - especially children and young people - who do not have the same tools as the adults to handle conflicts.

It is hard work that requires great commitment if it is to move people, but it is all worth it when you can see that you have helped to create a positive change in people's lives.

You can get either a therapist role or a supervisor role when you graduate. During the program has laid a training period in where you come out and feel on your own body what it means to be a social worker and get a knowledge of the typical tasks. You can choose to take your internship abroad, where you can have an even greater knowledge about how things are done there.
