If you sit in your room and work hard to describe the world around you with songs, poems, humor or something in between, you're the one in the 700s named one bard. So a singer who told, played and sang about himself king and everyday entertainment and reflection for the audience. In the 1100s, they were called 'Troubadours', now known as the singer / songwriters or standup comedians.

At Jyderup School they would like to maintain and develop the tradition that has been so long in coming, but they also want to renew the tradition. Therefore, we have established a music line where just narrative and song-writing is in the center. At the bar you will be taught by poets, writers, songwriters and storytellers.

Whether you are experienced and used to performing or are a beginner and have a few texts in the desk drawer does not matter. At Jyderup college will get the tools to get on with your material and to come out and entertain the audience - and hopefully give them something to think about in relation to the world we live in.

In this course we work to

• produce music videos
• record your own and others' songs
• interpret songs
• live
• master timing

We must also look at trends in the Danish songwriting through the zeros and up to today, and the US and British songwriting tradition. The goal is that you are going to possess skills in songwriting and art of storytelling and thereby being able to create an independent artistic expression.

Price:

1,400 kr. Per. week with food, accommodation and education.
1,000 kr. Per. week as a day student without room and board.
