Molecular Biomedicine is the study of biomedicine and how to treat diseases using results in stem cell research and knowledge of the human genetic code. The main subjects of the training is molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, enzymology, general chemistry and human biology. Teaching is a combination of lectures, exercises in small groups and experiments where you have a hand in the game.
In the study, you study how human genes work. It may be associated with diseases that sits in the genes, where appropriate, to go in and examine how we affect them with new drugs, so that we can wipe out diseases.
There is no ethics in the profession, but the focus is on the biological and chemical arts. It is an interdisciplinary training where you learn how the body responds to outside influences and how it behaves when it is not affected by the disease. You will be taught in both the molecular, cellular and physiological levels.
Classes are held both in the laboratory and in the classroom, where both group lessons and lectures occur.
Many undergraduates will continue as candidates, as there is much to learn in this study to get a thorough knowledge of all facets of the program has to offer.
Job Opportunities
With a bachelor's degree allows you to search assistant positions in bioteknologisk- and pharmaceutical companies. You can also so jobs in the public hospital or private clinics. Most students choose to supplement with a master's degree.
