Brandt's Café
Brandts in Odense is Denmark's first museum for art and visual culture. Here you have the opportunity to experience more than ten exhibitions a year of new and classic art, and Brandts has a collection of more than 15,000 works of art. In the spring of 2019, Brandt's Cafe opened so you can have a bite to eat inside the museum while enjoying these artistic exhibits. The café has been opened on the ground floor, where there used to be a museum shop. The café and art museum can be found at Amfipladsen 7 in the heart of Odense.
The café has been opened, among other things, on the basis of demand from museum visitors. There has been an expectation from the guests that the museum had a café. Guests often asked where the café was located and not if they had one. Therefore, it was obvious for Brandts to have his own café located at their museum. At the same time, this is because Brandts would like to remain in the art museums super league, which is why they have to have a café for their guests. In addition, there are no small expectations for the project that they have at Brandts: they expect the number of visitors to rise over the next few years from 95,000 - 115,000.
Another idea with the café was that this one should be located on the ground floor near the entrance, so that the museum could be visited by people who might not normally come by. Instead, it could be people who simply want to drink a cup of coffee, who may be tempted to come in because of their museum, to see what else they have to offer.
The barista in the cafe is one with extremely good experience. Morten Kaas comes from Navnloos Kaffebar in Copenhagen and therefore has a good experience in the industry. He heads Brandt's Café.
The opening hours of the site will follow the general opening hours of the museum. In addition, they stay open with the events so that attendees can come in and have a bite to eat or something hot or cold to drink, depending on mood and needs. The place here on the ground floor forms the setting for many of the museum's activities.
If you want to stroll past either Brandt's shop or café, you can enter for free without paying admission. So if you are not inside the museum, but perhaps just in the area and want a bite to eat, then you can take a stroll by here. You may also be lucky enough to find something exciting in their store that suits your taste and that you want to bring home. Whatever this is, art books, merchandise or something completely third.
So whether you are an experienced museum visitor or just a stroll past the area and want to have a drink or eat, Brandts Café is an obvious place to go for a walk.
