Abbey Inn - The Merry Monk

In the old days in central Odense, lived Franciscan monks in the monastery near Lille Gråbrødrestræde. Now the Abbey Inn - The Merry Monk, in the narrow alley and exudes atmosphere of yesteryear. Where the monks to live sparingly and poor without color of the clothes is just the opposite of Abbey Inn. Here there are happy days and lovely food. Good old-fashioned Danish food with beer and schnapps Ream served by nice staff. Especially their patty shells with chicken and asparagus, potatoes and carrots tossed in butter and parsley is one of the monk's specialties, which can be recommended. On Wednesdays, you can eat whatever you please of tartlets for only 149 kr.

The red and white checkered tablecloths on the tables, as well as the naturalistic paintings, makes you feel back in the early 1800s, where Hans Christian Andersen might as well have taken his lunch or dinner here. In a special section of the inn exudes the atmosphere of an even older era. Beer barrels, rustic brick walls and granite flooring is the setting for a perfect company, whether it is communions, Christmas party, mens dinner or just a dinner for everyone who likes to eat Danish food and plenty of it.

Baked omelette - HOUSE PRIDE
- With fried smoked pork, lightly salted pork and homemade pork rinds of Funen country pig, topped with tomato, cucumber and chives. In home-made mustard, the inn's own ketchup and wholemeal bread m. Butter.
