This training is a comprehensive study of global poverty. You will learn about the conditions for the billions of people living in poverty and how it affects their health, education, freedom and economic opportunities whether they live or die.
You will join a team of humanitarians from around the world who want to live in a common environment where everyone works together to live, learn and serve the poor.
The program takes 18 months and is divided into four periods:

First and second period: 6 months
You will meet your classmates, teachers and acclimate to life on campus. Your studies begin to understand the world, the forces that run the world, poverty history, potentials available to humanity and what the future holds. You will begin your studies with putting out into the community to ask questions and learn about the poor. Your team also begins to fundraise to cover the rest of your program expenses (including your ticket to Africa and health insurance while you are in Africa). You will learn how to strengthen the poor and become a development instructor in a third world country.

Third period: 6 months
This is the most challenging and exciting part of our program. You and your teammates live six months in a developing country. Depending on which campus you attend, you may be sent to Africa (Malawi, Mozambique, Zambia) or India. Our partner, Humana People to People, assigns you a program in groups of three (trios).

You can get to work with health, HIV / AIDS, agriculture, water projects, sanitation, education and other development programs. Our partner has a long tradition of ongoing projects around the world and provides leadership to our students. As development director to work with the community in which you help them to enable them to work together towards sustainable solutions for their lives. You will use everything you've learned in period one and two during your stay.

Fourth period: 6 months
After your stay abroad return your team back to campus. Here you can reflect on all that you have experienced, and take the time to integrate your service in your new worldview. You will finish the course with a certification and create a final project you can share with others. You may want to share the situation of the poor by creating a film, book, website, radio podcast, speaking trip, poetry or any other form of creative sharing with the world.

Additionally, you can take the time to determine how it will affect your own future. Some of the former students have chosen to go against a humanitarian career working in international aid programs and even choose to join One World Center permanently and work on one of the school sites.

You can also take out as a lecturer at festivals, events and schools to talk to others about global poverty and your experiences and experiences and encourage them to participate in helping the most vulnerable people on our planet.
