The European Film College is just the right place to get an education as a filmmaker.
Have you always dreamed of becoming a director, editor, cinematographer or actor, or maybe just be on a film set, to experience the energy in creating stories with moving images? So take this course, which takes 35 weeks (or 8.5 months) from late August to early May.
Here you will live and breathe for film 24/7 all year round.
At film school there will be students from around the world, and all teaching is in English.
A stay at the European Film College is the first step on the road to becoming a filmmaker and teaching is of high international quality. You will follow five different courses during your stay at the European Film College.
Each course is between 3 and 4 weeks and you'll get at least 25 hours of class instruction plus practical tasks and exercises each week in the period. At the end of training periods are often planned exercises where students produce short films using the film skills they have learned during the course. The first movie productions stretches over 2 weeks while the final project with graduation film runs for 5 weeks.
The courses are intertwined and it means that you are acquainted with different disciplines within a course. An example would be that students from instructor team doing exercises with students from camera-team - and later in the same process can exercises conducted together with students from the acting course.
The starting point of course is that the more you know about the world around you, the more material and inspiration you can get into your movies.
Virtually every week during your stay you will participate in lectures and lectures with filmmakers from around the world, where the topics are of a different nature - all with the film as the focal point. The lectures provide technical input and inspiration for the film projects you're doing.
The European Film College has a tradition of attracting qualified teachers and lecturers from both Denmark and abroad - directors, producers, journalists, scientists, composers and artists.
