Vinyasa is a dynamic form of yoga where you move in the flow with the breath. The focus is on the playful and creative transition between positions, but still with attention to the meditative through breathing. The training is intense and strong, but with a core of peace and joy.
It has many similarities with Ashtanga yoga, as they are both based on the same technique with breathing exercises and co-coordinated movements. During a Vinyasa yoga session, the body is very hot and you're going to sweat a lot. It just means you excrete a lot of waste products through the skin faster, you will feel really comfortable and purged.
When class is over ends with relaxation or meditation.
Vinyasa yoga comes from India and means in the Indian language Sanskrit, "touching".
