As a trained Sergeant in Ildstøttetropperne will have to operate high-tech warning systems, and monitor air space to identify and combat hostile flyaktivitet. You will also need to lead other soldiers in those support tasks.
The program The program begins with a 4½ months basic millitæruddannelse. It is complemented with subjects such as management, education, learning and sports. Afterwards begins the specialization in ildstøttetropperne. It lasts 3½ months and takes place either in the field artillery or anti-aircraft artillery. If you choose the field artillery you need to manage and communicate with aircraft during various operations. If you choose instead antiaircraft artillery teaches you to monitor and control the airspace in order to identify and combat enemy aircraft. No matter which line you choose, there will be plenty of training in the use of high-tech måludstyr.
How does it work? The first 4½ months takes place in Sønderborg, then specialize you in Varde.
Sending You will be sent on international missions after graduation to sergeant in ildstøttetropperne. It is usually with 6 months at a time. This will also be laid some months of training before they are sent.
