Mogador
Inspired by Moroccan lifestyle where serenity, meditation and coziness meets the Atlantic Ocean crashing waves that bites into the Atlas mountains, coasts, lies Mogador Restaurant, an oasis in the middle of Aarhus.
It is a tea room that is very different than anything else you will find in the city. From the moment you walk in the door everything is like in another world. The warm orange colors on the wall, reminiscent of the desert, to the opulent glass and the beautiful silver teapot. The sweet scent of Belgian chocolate, mixed with mint and argan tickles your senses.
It serves local dishes from Morocco, which you can enjoy alongside the likes of Belgian beer.
Book a table for you and your friends here, so I can have an exciting night out.
As Mogador was founded in 1760 in Morocco was the Danish consul from Aarhus. So when the colonial power left the country and the city changed its name to Essaouira, so it was natural that some of Mogador moved to Aarhus.
Here you can have Moroccan mint tea and organic coffee and exotic salads. All the good from Morocco has moved into Mogador Restaurant, where you can find care, among other argan oil imported directly from Morocco.
Mogador has partnered with an organic and fair trade cooperative in Morocco, where they also get delicious pashminatørklæder, woodwork and custom-made slippers from.
Additionally, it places the Aarhus surfers and backpackers to go and talk about surfing experiences and world tours over a brunch or a fresh dessert with organic orange, honey and cinnamon. The atmosphere takes you back to your experience in the big wide world and you can easily imagine riding on a camel.
This Moroccan inspired restaurant / tea room will open your mind to a whole new world. Getting into the oasis and spread the fun, joy and good karma and put teeth into a delicious briwat with chicken, hot Bissara (vegetable soup) or a fruit salad with ice.
Studenterguiden.dk recommend you try at least one new thing every month and this is certainly one of the new things you should try. Just close your eyes and enjoy the smell of mint tea while you dream you away to a journey into the unknown or somewhere you have been before. Take explore this amazing adventure world where culture, art and culinary experiences become one with each other.
