Peter Gift

Peter Gift is a cafe and pub located on MP Bruuns Gade 28 in central Aarhus, and here the traditions are maintained. In 2006, they were able to celebrate their 100th anniversary, and the story begins as a wine shop, which then a few years later became the pub that is so popular and highly loved today.

The atmosphere in the pub is rustic, informal and cozy, and with its central location in Aarhus, it is thus a hangout for people of several different ages who want to come by and get a break from everyday life. The story goes really far back, and is really exciting. What first started as a wine shop in 1900, developed in 1906 into a pub, which over time has changed both name and owner. Why it ended with the name Peter Gift, only gossip can tell, but it is an incredibly exciting and interesting story, which they will gladly tell about while they pour you a cold and delicious draft beer.

It is possible to quench your thirst with countless different kinds of beer, spirits and sodas. In fact, they have as many as 9 different draft beers and more than 60 different beers on tap and bottled, which come from specialty breweries in the Netherlands, USA, Germany and England. In addition, lunch is also served every day from Tuesday to Friday. On Saturdays, the buffet is usually covered with all the old classics; tartlets, marinated and spicy herring, medister, meatballs, cheese, etc. In their normal lunch menu, you can choose between marinated herring with curry salad, warm fish fillet with remoulade, smoked eel with scrambled eggs, Parisian steak, tenderloin steak, omelette and much more delicious.

Special seasonal buffets are served around public holidays. The Christmas buffet in particular, which starts in November, is very popular, and they therefore recommend booking a table well in advance to make sure there is room. Often people have booked a table a whole year in advance due to the high demand. They also have a cozy patio, which is open from March to October, and the remaining months they light up the fireplace inside so you can keep warm.
