Medical education is far from a standard education, and the road to becoming a doctor can be taken over 3 different tracks. You can select a biomedical direction in which you learn how the body is built and operate - the aim is that you as the master's program can work with clinic problem solving and treatment.
The direction profession track focuses on practical skills that directly treat injuries or illness and for communication with patients and relatives. The direction scholar traces studied research on the latest scientific and medical literature in order to critically assess the results. You will also learn self-motivated to publish their own research within your field.
At the master's of Medicine program you gain the power to diagnose, treat, and prevent all kinds of diseases. It is possible to gain clinical experience by staying at the hospital or clinic.
It takes 3 years to complete the candidate and an additional 18-month internship stay before you can post Cand.Med (medical) on your business card. During your training, you will gain insight into how the human body works and may be affected by treatment. You learn to diagnose diseases and communicate with patients and the types of treatment that are appropriate.
Medicine containing auxiliary as chemistry, mathematics and some physics. Part of the course is lectures in large auditorium and subsequently in smaller groups. There are also clinical trials in laboratories and internship at a hospital.
Besides taking a Master's degree in medicine you should take a clinical basic training alongside. It gives you a broader aspect of the theory, which you can try out in practice. Then you can take an education as a specialist that takes additional 4-7 years to complete.
At Aalborg University, you can take the master's of Medicine with Industrial Specialization. The program has a strong focus on research and development of new medical products. You will be part of a research group, so now you have a real opportunity to put your personal stamp on the medical development. Specifically, you can select one of the following main areas that you will go in depth:
- Regenerative medicine (eg. The development of tissues and organs)
- Health economy (sales, marketing, resources and health technology assessment)
- Clinical trials (management of clinical trials, ethics and legislation)
At the end of the program you must independently develop specialty either via a stay at a university or in cooperation with a company.
