Conceptual Based Practice
Conceptual Based Practice is not a material defined area in line with the example certain subject area painting or sculpture but a discipline or an angle that can be used as a starting point when we are looking at, talking about and working with all the media available to us as artists today both the newer media example certain internet, video, intervention or assimilation and the more classic such as drawing, painters and sculpture. The starting point for the work of the department is that we consider all artistic activities, both the actual work production and disciplines such as research and konteksttualisering as a conceptual errand - example some painting as a conceptual / idea based gesture as opposed to a physical handicraft enterprise. Although the words are part of Conceptual Based Practice has a direct link to conceptual art, there are also other art historical / theoretical disciplines, knowledge and experience as department bases its work on some of the key formally based disciplines are: Context Art, Relational Aesthetics and Assimilation Art and more content focused disciplines such as: Social Plastic, Political Art, feminism and Minority Art instance certain Ethno Art and Homo Art. The primary activity of the department's conversations - it can be anything from conversations with base in concrete ideas, works or work ideas of students and others for more general discussions related to topics such as politics, culture, theory, philosophy and other topics that may be relevant for us as members of our contemporaries. The department strives to most activities taking place in a larger forum and want thereby to break with the individualistic anti-social form which has been significant in Central European art education in the past few hundred years. The department Conceptual Based Practice operates with an artist role which the artist is an active participant both in the local environment of the school - in what we share our thoughts and reflections with our colleagues - and society in the sense that we also consider the implications of our behavior is related to the society we engage in when we instance, some choose to communicate with the world by hanging a picture on the wall in a gallery.
