Agricultural Economics

Agricultural Economics is an education with a focus on the economic, political and legal conditions that apply for marketing and interaction on the world market for food. You will become acquainted with many exciting areas ranging from consumer behavior, marketing economy, international laws and regulations in the food market, near and distant markets various compositions and generally how the world economy is linked in a global perspective.

But Agricultural Economics is also economy at company level, where you learn how each company is positioned relative to its market and the global economy. Here you get close to international trade and how the economy in rich countries affect the economic development of poor countries - with a particular focus on the globalization taking place at political and economic level in these times.

The study and teaching Bachelor part of Agricultural Economics is rated for 3 years and during that time you will get a thorough introduction to the economic issues that you will encounter in real life. First year in Agricultural Economics teaching is built around some basic subjects which include : Mathematics, computing, economics, international economics and food policy, microeconomics, macroeconomics, development economics, international economics. the second year includes some compulsory subjects, but you also have the opportunity to supplement with the offered electives. The compulsory courses include: Statistical data analysis, economic policy, food sector production economy, as well as a theme-course focusing on economic analysis. The third year expands your skills with legal and regulatory disciplines with a focus on international conditions such as EU legislation. The subjects include: EU Law, Theory, Welfare economics and policy analysis. To end the 3 years to write a bachelor, you must independently choose and analyze an academic topic.
