Inspiration yesterday ...

Inspiration came true when six hardware stores went with the same vision: to develop a store that could be more than just hardware. It was back in the 1970s. And over the next 10 years came several stores.

In 1982 it was recognized that we needed a professional organization and set up a chain department. 23 shops participated in the cooperation, for example. Common marketing each year resulted in a big Christmas catalog.

In May 1987, the final concept for Inspiration founded: One's product lines, profile, facades, policies and joint marketing. And in the spring of 1988, all stores bearing the Inspirations logo we know today with the three characteristic spots.

From May 1991 it was agreed to use common store planning and control systems and to further develop the market. The chain also agreed common supplier and personnel policies, and that the concept needed to be developed.

And it has been done. Inspiration has developed the basic and core range, nuclear suppliers, store design concept and personnel training program, and in 1994 was introduced even technology for control of shop earnings and a common merchandiser corps. In 1997 it was decided to increase the share of revenue on their own products and exclusive distribution.

In October 2000 showed Inspiration again thinking and willingness to explore new avenues. The goods were now gathered in the store room as the homes of consumers. And while there was secured space for activities in the shop. All for the benefit and inspiration for customers.

Inspiration today ...

Inspiration consists of 50 stores across Denmark. In 2008, the voluntary chain bought by various investors, including the Danish capital, Capidea.
Inspiration is one of the leading stores with home furnishings and gifts in Denmark. The chain consists of a total of 40 own stores and 10 affiliated stores in well-situated locations in the metropolitan area and in the Danish provincial towns. Inspiration employs about 500 employees.

Inspiration has a wide range of strong brands in gift ideas and interior design. Additionally, we value a quick and professional service, as well as a beautiful gift wrapping. We design wrapping paper and ribbons to match the season and current trends.
