The program Mechanical and Production (also called Mechanical Engineer), you can choose to specialize in a few different directions.
Described below are the following directions:
- Electro-Mechanical System Design
- Design of Mechanical Systems
- Production Management & Business Systems
- Production Engineering & Manufacturing Technology
Electro-Mechanical System Design
Specializing in Electro-Mechanical System Design you're going to engage in the development and production of consumer goods engineering industry, both at component and system levels. The emphasis is on the development of design and functionality that can bring about the physical characteristics, but also in hardware and software component of a product. The program includes the design of electro-mechanical systems. Students are taught the basic engineering, electro-technical and regulatory technical subjects. The emphasis is on the disciplines of modeling, simulation and design of complex composite systems. The teaching is a mix of lectures and project work. Each semester has an overall theme to work from and almost all project work is done in collaboration with a company.
Design of Mechanical Systems
As a graduate in Mechanical and Production you get to work with development and production of some of tomorrow's consumer products. In particular, products and components for the industrial sector you are going to develop. The first 2 semesters of training is called a base year. The teaching is based primarily on mathematics, and here you are with your group prepare a larger project. On the following semesters will get acquainted with the exciting areas of Product Design, Process Design and Manufacturing System Design.
Product: Here you will learn from scratch to design a product. It may be a machine for use in the production in a factory or business. You work down to the smallest detail, such as bearings, gears, bolt connections, welds and equal.
Process Design: In this course, you learn to analyze an already developed mechanical product in order to optimize the processes used, as well as to improve the materials used for the product.
Production System Design: Here you can choose between Production System Design with a focus on product customization and production system design with a focus on production management. Common to the two subjects is that you along with your group should develop a business model for your project. The focus should then be on product customization and production management. Product modification can involve the redesign of products or optimizing their structure and the like. Production management can be done through an analysis of a company's production and thereby suggest improvements and optimizations in production.
Production Management & Business Systems
Line Production Management & Business Systems allow you to specialize in the development, operation and management of the global network. In short, it is about to be the industrial production at an overall strategic level. You must consider the business aspects of the production. It may be the development of large logistic systems implementing an entire company's transport of goods and materials. Implementation of such a system (successfully) could reduce a company's costs significantly. You can also develop and work on projects in production planning, implementation of IT systems or project-based management.
Production Engineering & Manufacturing Technology
Line Production Engineering & Manufacturing Technology allows you to work with development, design and production of new products or production systems that can be implemented in industrial enterprises to optimize production flow. The development of new products has both a technical aspect, where it acts as optimizing purely technical attributes of a product, as well as a financial and management perspective, where the key is how the realization and handling of products takes place.
The Bachelor program concludes with a bachelor one of the above areas.
Job Opportunities
You can be employed in a manufacturing company as a civil engineer.
