IT and Health is a studio that bridges the gap between health sciences and IT (Information Technology).

The basic idea is that IT should be developed so it can be used as a valuable tool to prevent diseases, diagnose diseases and choose the best treatment for the specific disorder.

IT can also be used to develop communication with doctors and patients in the future. IT is also used in many of the activities performed every day around the country's hospitals. It may be in the diagnosis, treatment or prevention. Here there is a need for students with innovative and groundbreaking ideas that can optimize and improve the way diseases and patients are treated.

The study and teaching
In the IT and Health will meet elements of health combined with disciplines from the natural sciences. This means that the study is interdisciplinary and uses the best parts from the two disciplines. Take classes in subjects such as:

Statistical methods, modeling and calculations Epidemiological methods, Ethics and Science, Communications and Networking, Human Biology and Pathology, the health care organization, requirements specification and the IT system

The Bachelor program concludes with a bachelor where you independently or with one fellow student to prepare a larger optional project. You can either write your bachelor project with the University of Copenhagen and you will get a supervisor, or you may choose to seek out a partner in the private sector.

The trainers who will help you safely through IT and Health is tenured lecturers at the two faculties (The Sundhedsvidenskabelige- and the Faculty of Science ), people from the private sector, representatives from the healthcare industry, IT experts and guest lecturers from home and abroad. Are you a hardcore students and can not get enough training, we offer University summer schools and internships where you can really develop yourself and your professional skills.

Job Opportunities

With a bachelor's degree in IT and Health you will not get access to a well-defined job profile and therefore choose many students to study further and supplement with a master's degree.
