History

History is a study that deals with all the events that have shaped our world and civilization throughout the ages. History is an exciting familiar with where the mantra is that in order to understand our present and near future, it is important to know the past. Therefore, history is not just a study of a wide range of events in chronological order - history is critical analysis and evaluating the issues that have influenced world history.

In history includes you all important perspectives both the prevailing zeitgeist, the thoughts and ideas as a period of time was marked by wars that changed the world and geography, political events and all the processes that have been crucial to the historical development until today. The angles may be many, from economics, politics, culture and religious matters.

History is not a value-neutral subjects - history interpretation is characterized always by the optics spectator it. History consists of three modules each lasting one semester. To obtain a master's degree you must combine history with another program.

History Programme starts at the undergraduate module with two basic courses:

A course in historical methodology and source criticism and a practical course in library use and information retrieval.

The tools you gain through these courses are important for the rest of the program, particularly in the project. Then follow the two master modules an advanced course in historical theory and historiography, and a theme course aimed at deepening in a specific field of research. In addition to these methodological-theoretical courses are offered at all modules a number of more factually oriented courses, which allows you to gain insight into the long lines in Danish and European history from the early Middle Ages until recently.

Beside the courses draws you to each module a project. In the project, go in depth and have a specialized knowledge of a specific historical issue, and knowledge of how to process and analyze historical material.
