If in doubt you must be a nurse, therapist or something like that, where contacts with people and their treatment is something that gives you purpose in life or a sense of joy in the happiness of others, so it may be that the physiotherapist could be something for you.
On the physiotherapy course you need to learn about the body and its movement. Treatment and prevention of injuries in muscles and joints is a big part of the job as a physiotherapist, so you need to learn a lot about. Students are taught sports and movement, a wide range of subjects such as health economics, psychology, sociology and communication, and of course in anatomy and physiology.
It is important that you have no fear of contact, as much of the job involves very close contact with patients. Besides the close contact with the patient, you also have an advisory role as a physiotherapist. You must teach patients how they are re-training and maintain their body so that the pain they are kept in check, or being trained away if possible.
However, it is not only the body alone that physical therapists treat and work with. It is as much the mind and the interaction between body and mind. For as the saying goes: "A healthy mind in a healthy body", which means that just the psyche and physics influence each other. Therefore, you also work a lot with the psychological aspects in relation to the treatment of patients, so you get all the way around and can build up and prevent or delay future defects as long as possible.
The program is divided into modules, and already in the first module, you must have a short training period where you observe physical therapy in action. Through the various training periods you get more and more learning of the clinical training, where you among other things, learn to communicate with patients and understand their characters that can be difficult to decipher for a layman.
Modulforløbets internship ends with an examination of the clinical training site.
