Philosophy is many disciplines such as ethics, morality, life, metaphysics, logic together under a common concept. But philosophy in its essence is curiosity, and the desire to question an established truth or unproven statements.
A Master's degree in Philosophy takes two years and is based on the topics you became acquainted with the bachelor program. Candidate section is popularly said that part of your training where you need to specialize in a particular subject area. At the University there are 3 possible main areas to choose from:
- Theoretical Philosophy
- Practical Philosophy
- History of Philosophy
Theoretical Philosophy can be erkendelsesteorien such. Descartes famous "brains in a vat", as the film The Matrix is heavily inspired by, or Aristotle's Metaphysics. Practical Philosophy often has to do with ethics and moral example. how we should relate to euthanasia, cloning, stem cell research and the like. History of Philosophy is the study of the historical tradition, associated with the various great thinkers from Plato, Aristotle of Thomas Aquinas, John Hobbes to contemporary thinkers such as Heidegger, Sartre, Ricoeur and Habermas.
Student Committee changed from year to year, and you can freely between the subjects offered, so you are not forced to follow certain subjects.
A special branch of the program can be found at RU. It is called Philosophy and Science, but very similar to the philosophy of education.
Job Opportunities
Teacher, researcher, author, lecturer. Most graduates with a philosophy of education in the backpack, choose to supplement with a degree in another area. It's not easy to get a job with a degree in philosophy, but such IT University and CBS offer courses and degree programs that can fine-tune your skills so that employers find it easier to become aware of your ability.
Related student jobs
There is no direct philosophy related student jobs, but if you have time and energy to it, you could participate in debates or political meetings or other association work in associations concerned with ethical issues to do to challenge your learning into practice.
