Aarhus is packed with good places in the city to go if you want to have a good shit. But if you feel you have become too old to take on e.g. Australian Bar, where many young high school students go, you should try Clemens Bar on Åboulevarden 35. Here the age limit is 25+, so here there is a more relaxed atmosphere for those who are a little older.

You may have heard of Clemens Gastro & Bar, which was a restaurant on the creek. Now it has become the new bar that opened in 2019. The men behind it are Nicolai Hommelhoff and Mads Krigslund, who are behind many restaurants and nightclubs in Aarhus. This bar is the 8th of its kind and it has a very special concept.

As I said, you have to be 25 years old to be able to get in, so this is good news for the slightly older segment in Aarhus, where there may have been a lack of a cool place to go. In addition, you should not expect to be able to stand in the middle of the dance floor and light a cigarette. The premises are non-smoking, and if you want to be in the city, but have to drive home, there are drinks without alcohol. However, if you are a regular or party smoker, you can still go out and smoke outside under the bridge.

The bar has a very exclusive look with chandeliers and huge glass facades where you can look out to the creek. Clemens Bar is located quite centrally by the river, so it is an obvious place to go when you have eaten at one of the restaurants nearby.

They have chosen to name the bar Clemens Bar rather than Clemens Night Club, as they want to maintain the relaxed atmosphere. Here you can still get a classic draft beer, even though the premises are adorned with flashing lights and an illuminated bar.

If you would rather get up and get used to the dancing shoes, there is ample opportunity for that. The bar is divided into two ends, where at one end you can sit and enjoy a drink in their lounge. Here there is a calmer atmosphere where the music is less loud. At the other end, on the other hand, there is a doomed party atmosphere with DJ and dance floor, so depending on what mood you are in, you can just go over from one end to the other end of the bar.

Best of all, there is free admission. It can quickly become an expensive affair to take in the city, but the prices are also quite nice. For a certain period of time, there is half price for cocktails and draft beer, so you do not have to drink from home when the prices are so good. You can get classic cocktails like Mojito or try a Passionada, which is a popular drink with passion fruit.

So for those of you who are long past 25, Clemens Bar is a great place to go in the city. No matter what the mood, whether you're in a dance mood or a lounge mood, you can get both here. The bar is incredibly centrally located, so whether you want to stay there all night or move on into the city, there are endless possibilities nearby.
