Amass Fried Chicken

Copenhagen is home to both Michelin restaurants, Instagram-friendly cafes and everything in between. Many places have been tried to draw inspiration from abroad, and in Copenhagen there are now many varieties of street food and new wild concepts, which attract residents from all over the city and tourists. One of the new concepts that Copenhagen can present is Amass Fried Chicken, located at Refshalevej 153.

Amass Fried Chicken is a brand new addition to the Amass Restaurant, which is a gourmet restaurant. Behind the restaurant is former Noma chef, Matthew Orlando, so you can sit back and know that this is a place that serves high quality food. The restaurant focuses on organic food using local produce, while Amass Fried Chicken is a bit of a counterpoint to that.

This is where fried chicken is served, as if you were sitting in a Texas or Oklahoma restaurant. It is crispy, deep-fried chicken, which is very good in your hand, because here there is no need to eat with a knife and fork. As an accessory, delicious coleslaw is served, which is a breath of fresh, slightly fried chicken. Of course, sauce is also needed, and it is made to perfection, so you are guaranteed a meal that is neither too greasy nor too dry.

The premises are pretty much right on the water on Refshale Island and if you come from far away, you have to know that there are plenty of places nearby to explore. Refshale Island is an exciting place that offers good food and culture. At the same time, Islands Brygge is only a bike ride away, as are Nørrebro and Vesterbro.

To enter the Amass Fried Chicken, one must enter from the garden. You can come and eat your fried chicken indoors or outdoors, which can be incredibly cozy in the summer. It's a really good place to hold pit stops with friends if you fancy something a little more sassy.

If you are a vegetarian or a friend of your own, do not go in vain. Namely, Amass Fried Chicken serves a vegetarian version of fried chicken, fried oyster mushrooms. So they are fried oyster mushrooms, which may sound strange, but is actually a really nice alternative. The consistency is actually almost equal to regular chicken, and because it is prepared with the right spices, any meat lover can also easily enjoy the vegetarian version.

Of course, you can also get some good drinks for your fried chicken. They have both beer such as IPA and Sour Beer, which fits the chicken really well. If you are more into natural wine, you can get bottled white, orange and red wines or just a single glass. Even if the food saturates very much, you may still have room for dessert. Then it is good that they have a chocolate brownie on the menu.

All in all, Amass Fried Chicken is a great place to dine with friends. Here you can hang out in cozy surroundings while tasting their delicious fried chicken. You cannot reserve seats, but since there is space both inside and outside, finding a place to sit should not be a problem. At the same time, the prices are really reasonable for what you get. So it's just getting off to Refshale Island.
