One of the Danish favorite destination is Turkey. We make pilgrimages there summer after summer and absorb the culture to us or lie and soak at the beach. Turkish is an exciting study where you have the opportunity to learn about the history of Turkey from the Ottoman Empire to the secular republic country is today. Turkey has been the scene of some wars and regional conflicts, but in the 21st century marked by stability and is on the threshold of joining the European Union.
Just about joining the EU, there is much political palaver and polymik into play, which can make it very interesting and relevant to have an education in Turkish. With a degree in Turkish will namely have an advantage in any negotiations, if you choose a political or economic way as subsidiary subject to your Turkish studies.
In the study you read Turkey's history and learn about the religious conditions that have created the culture and tradition that is prevalent in Turkey today. You can also analyze the political agenda that characterizes Turkey, and economic conditions and consumer culture, which is characterized by the Turkish community. Central to the study is of course that you learn to speak, read and write Turkish. Your language skills do you use to acquire additional knowledge through literary, biographical, documentary and artistic works in the original language.
The first six months of training is primarily teaching and during the 3 years of the program, then you have 3/4 years for elective courses.

Danish A, English B, History B or Social Studies B or Contemporary History B or History of Ideas B. Do not have prior knowledge of Turkish, follow a beginners course with language lessons in Turkish.
