Near Eastern Archaeology

The Near Eastern archeology associated with the Middle Eastern areas and the culture that has shaped the society as we know in Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Turkey and many others. You will get a unique opportunity to study the buildings, statues, architecture, objects, art works, cemeteries, religious temples and thus provide you a more complete picture of the area's unique and a little mysterious culture.

The first part of the basic subject study focuses on Mesopotamia and Egypt, where you get an insight into ancient cultures and mysteries. There are many fields in common with the other two fields of study and Assyriology Egyptology. When subjects overlap across the study are, you can easily change direction if you get a greater interest in one of the other directions.

The difference of Near Eastern Archaeology and Assyriology and Egyptology, is that the latter two are based on written sources, where Near Eastern Archaeology focuses on the physical and material artefacts from excavations throughout the area.

The first 2 ¼ years Bachelor's degree in Middle East language and society (Near Eastern archeology) you will study basic studies and the subsequent 4.3 years you can choose elective courses outside the core subject. You can freely select which options you want on undergraduate study. The first half is a studio on a par with the students of Egyptology Assyriology).
