Music therapy is an education where you are actively using music as a way to treat diseases and disorders. It may sound unorthodox, but Music therapy is an established treatment that has begun to enjoy international recognition.
Basically, you learn to use music to accompany activities improves a patient's situation for example. in relation to a disability. As one of the first on the program, choose an instrument that you receive training in - the idea is that you learn some musical skills and then you develop the skills so you can use your skills in a clinical / therapeutic context. You will participate in three internships at institutions with different patient groups. Your experience with these pathways can you use in your further training and refine the more theoretical knowledge you build on.
You can especially use music therapy to children who do not have a real language, or who have difficulty expressing themselves. In the program, you can choose between three tracks: The musical tracks, the therapeutic clues and theoretical tracks. On the musical tracks you will be taught in your instrument and improves you, as well as being theoretically founded in eg use of voice, ensemble and ear training.
The therapeutic track forces you in the therapeutic skills and you will also receive professional training. You will go through some practical training during the training beyond that.

You may be employed at public institutions, where you can use your education and your skills to improve conditions for patients or in specialized institutions.
