If you always playing with food when you were small, you got to know that it had not. In this training you must discard food ad to find out what it consists of.
A Master's degree in food science focuses on the food we produce and eat in our society. This is particularly the food quality, production methods and nutritional content that is interesting. You get to work with the way food is produced - right down to the individual crops and the mark they are cultivated on. The idea is that you should be able to plan and manage an entire production process - whether it is industrial or organic production.
You will get acquainted with the latest production methods and the latest technology in the field. At the same time, you learn elements of classical cuisine, so you can design and develop new foods.

You can choose to follow one of four lines during the 2 years of the program.
- General Foodstuffs Line
- Dairy Technology (Dairy Technology)
- Meat Science & Technology (Meat Science & Technology)
- Food Safety (Food Safety)
Common to all specializations is that complete your training by writing a thesis on a chosen topic - either alone or in a small group. University of Copenhagen says the switch to business is good and the students are encouraged to seek student job that will challenge their knowledge during the training.
Below we have outlined the various lines:
General Foodstuffs Line
On the line General Foodstuffs Line you have the opportunity to specialize in a particular discipline. It can be Technology, Microbiology, Chemistry or Quality. The first year includes an obligatory theme course where you choose the theme from 6-7 offered themes.
For example, is acting theme of "Meat as a Raw Material" for the purchase as an ingredient in food. Specifically, you will learn about the muscular physiology, biology and structure in order to increase product quality when you use meat in food. It includes education in the chemical structures and processes, as well as nutritional content and composition.
The rest of the courses you can choose from, so-called core courses where interesting subjects among others Sensory and Consumer Science, Milk Processing, Advanced Chemical Food Safety and Food Enzymes and Applications is available. There is often 10-15 subjects to choose from.
Dairy Technology (Dairy Technology)
The specialization in Dairy Technology is a study in how milk as raw material processed and produced - milk is an ingredient in countless products around the world from cheese, buttermilk, sour milk for special products such as Cultura, Gaio, confections and the like. You will start training with the review of the entire production process. From the milk drawn from the cow and the production methods that are prominent here, for the chemical and microbiological processes used in the further processing of the milk before it reaches the consumer. It is therefore natural that a major part of the teaching is practical visits, as well as lectures and exercises in the associated laboratory. It is also possible to get dairy internship during the training.
Meat Science & Technology (Meat Science & Technology)
The specialization in Meat Science & Technology is the study of meat raw ingredient in food. You get to work with many types of meat and you follow the entire production chain from slaughtering the animal to the microbiological and chemical processes that control how the further production and processing should best be done. You will also work with food safety and how international law dictates forms of production and marketing conditions of the finished products.
Food Safety (Food Safety)
The specialization in Food security is a sp & aelig; fascinating profession where you have the opportunity to learn all aspects Inside is ensuring the production and processing of the food we eat so that they meet the highest standards for health and hygiene. You will study the latest technology in order to improve current production methods, but you can also design and develop new foods that can change people's eating habits and introduce healthier and more nutrient-dense foods. There are a lot of opportunities in Food and you get specific training that is future-proof job- related issues and technology.

You may be brewmaster, food inspectors, quality manager in the food industry and many other similar jobs.
