Gastronomia Napolitana
There are many pizzerias in Aalborg. Sometimes it can be difficult to figure out which one to choose. Do you have a hangover, do you particularly want traditional Italian pizzas or do you just need really good pizza. It's about finding a pizzeria that can meet those requirements at the same time. But so can Gastronomia Napolitana at John F. Kennedy Square 2B.
As you can hear from the name, the pizzeria specializes in Neapolitan pizzas. Pizzas from Naples came a few years ago as something special on the UNESCO World Heritage List. So it is a very special craft that can not be made by everyone. In 1984, a document was written in Naples describing what it takes to call pizza a real Neapolitan pizza.
It deals with e.g. all about the shape and size of the pizza, what flour is used for the pizza and much more. So it is seriously an art that must be mastered. But even if you are not in Naples, at Gastronomia Napolitana you make a really good attempt to imitate the Neapolitan pizzas.
The pizzeria is located on the famous John F. Kennedy Square near the train station and various shopping opportunities. Gastronomia Napolitana can be found quickly by looking for the Italian flags. When you enter the pizzeria, it's a bit like being in Italy. Checkered tablecloths, red seats and an informal atmosphere create fertile ground for a really good afternoon or evening.
It is Sabbah Bwiani Amadi who opened the pizzeria in 2010. He already has many years of experience in the restaurant environment, and the Italian craft left its mark on him in 2006-2011, where he worked for an Italian family. Since then, he has tried to mix the Italian craft with some new pizza varieties that the Danes love.
As something special, the owner has chosen not to promote the place very much. He has instead believed that the people of Aalborg who came and liked the pizza would spread the message in their circle of friends. And with many positive reviews, one has to state that that strategy has worked.
Although you can get pizzas like Napolitana and Margherita, which are classic pizzas, there is also the opportunity to experiment a bit. For example. are experimenting with putting different kinds of meat on the pizza, which is not traditionally Italian, but something that we Danes love on our pizza. In addition, the menu includes special ingredients such as squash and truffle sauce.
You can e.g. order one of the special pizzas, Straccitella, which is mozzarella and cream cheese. On top of the pizza comes broccoli, fresh tomatoes, potatoes, truffle sauce and finally vitello, which are thin slices of veal. You might not think so, but grilled eggplant is actually really good on pizza, and you can, for example. get at No. 20, which is La Sicilia. There you get tomato cheese, feta cheese, pesto, mushrooms and the grilled eggplant.
A pizzeria where many regular customers come to taste the delicious pizza is Gastronomia Napolitana. A mix of Danish taste and Italian traditions is the standard for the place. The pizza is homemade, the ingredients are fresh and the service is good.
