Ethnology is the study of people or courts said about different peoples. Whether we like it or not, the nations different from each other - it can bring about such. cultural and religious matters. If you choose to read Ethnology, so you get to work with different people and situations and conflicts that can arise when two cultures meet. For example. be related to the integration of immigrants or establishing business activities in exotic parts of the world.
As the studio is very much about cultural understanding, you will be able to carry out preliminary studies for companies that want to establish themselves as a company in other countries. You will be able to advise these firms in terms of employment, management and communication across cultures.
The study may well remind anthropology. Previously, there was significant difference between these two programs, as ethnology focused on the European population, community and cultural development, while anthropology focused on similar area for the people of other countries. Now, these differences are, however, more or less blurred and both groups takes care of the world.
It is especially very relevant in today's Denmark and the rest of the world for that matter, to know about the cultural differences and integration of these as there are many refugees and the opportunity to travel far been easier, making several peoples mixed more than previous and new cultures occurs.
As a student of Ethnology is a big part of your training based on practical field work - it may be interviewing people or physical sightings of example. demonstrations, election speeches, cultural events and the like. So do you like working with people, then Ethnology is interesting and relevant study.
Since a relatively large part of the literature is in English, Swedish and a small part in German, it is expected that you have the necessary literacy.
