Danish Red Cross

In Kolding we can rejoice over a large number of fresh volunteers who all contribute their. The volunteers found in ages, genders and nationalities, and here are all welcome that will help us to help others.

Patient supports:
With the opening and dedication of patient restraints were Kolding again promoting the shoe. As the third hospital in the region of Southern Denmark Kolding opened in September officially supports patient at a reception in the foyer at Kolding hospital. At the reception was partly Poul-Erik Svendsen, from the Regional Council and Jørgen Poulsen. Poul-Erik told Local TV station TVSYD to the Regional Council would now work to all hospitals in the region of Southern Denmark should do as we in Kolding, Svendborg and Roads and get patient support in the hospitals. Jørgen Poulsen was not slow on the trigger and quoted immediately Poul-Erik for his opinions.

Recycling to the door:
In Kolding we got the idea that you could get out of hand shop, in the same way as it is known from some greengrocer. For the purpose purchased a bus that was converted for the purpose. The idea was now that we were going out and meeting customers at home with yourself, in your area. Expectations were high, not least from the Red Cross country office, where special vice president of the Red Cross really loved the idea. Unfortunately, it was not this time the big suses. The idea fell on that we lacked enough volunteers with the bus driver's license, so it was never a problem to get the bus off to the vacant places and times.

Visit Service is Danish Red Cross' largest social activity in Denmark. Over 6000 volunteers visit each week another person. Even so, the wait long to get a visiting friend.
Many Danes live alone. If you are old, ill or disabled, it can mean social isolation.

The days where the television and radio are the only guests, it feels long. But more than 6,000 people in Denmark have a Red Cross visiting friend who drop by once a week.

Compared to about becomes 300,000 visits a year - but the need is even greater.

many are on the waiting list, so that is sorely needed for several aides - especially in the larger cities.
