Arabic and communications studies offered in collaboration between Handelshøjsskolen and the Faculty of Theology. The possibilities with a degree in Arabic and communications are now many and with more Arabic-speaking people in Denmark increased need ongoing. Options include work for companies exporting to the Arabic-speaking countries, or in the public sector, where the switch to Arabic-speaking people in Denmark must be maintained. The studio mixes Arabic language with the subject of communication, in the same way as other language courses at the Business School. Training with Arabic as a language takes but a half years more than the others due. One semester of additional study to basic language training (introductory courses).

The communication part is done at CBS while the Faculty of Theology offers the course modern Arabic, so you will have to study this here with other Arab students. Language Arabic is available in many forms, but the Arab in Arabic and communications teacher is Modern Standard Arabic. The language practiced with particular emphasis on the communicative part. You will during training but also learn selected dialects that are used in today's Middle East. Language Teaching is in class with intensive use of audiovisual media.

It all starts, however, with the introductory course in introductory Arabic. The course is intensive and not part of the bachelor's program, but even a necessary prerequisite for the courses at the BSc. Can you Arabic in advance you might avoid this semester. The level increased continuously during the semester and you will learn more and more advanced standard Arabic. There ligges greatly emphasis on practicing of communicative use of Arabic, so you learn how language is used in different situations and contexts. You will learn how to analyze language statement on a systematic basis (phonetics, grammar, semantics and pragmatics) and translate from Danish to Arabic correctly and visa versa. On the 4th Semester you a stay at an educational institution in the Middle East and once you have learned Arabic first four semesters are you ready for the 5th and 6th Semester, which focuses on Arab business language.

There will be deadline per. March 15 or July 5, 2008 with study per. February 1, where a half year propædeutikforløb starts at Aarhus University. In September starts teaching at the three-year course in both Arabic and communications at both institutions.
