Will you be the next Indiana Jones? Do you scour the pyramids and find answers discovering new historical facts in the codes they chopped into the pyramid walls for more than 5000 years ago?
It is probably not quite so completely like to read Egyptology, but you will be the tour guide for a group of interested tourists and could shine with your skills on the ancient Egyptian when you look at a few hieroglyphics and says what it says.
Have you already taken Egyptology at the undergraduate level, as is the natural continuation to take it at the graduate level.
Egyptology can be read at the graduate level and the training takes 2 years. Over the two years you get to go deeper into the matter and the humanities as you followed in the bachelor. You continues in reading sources and texts in the Egyptian language and learn simultaneously on the development as Egypt has undergone from 3000 BC to date. Archaeology, art, religion, social sciences and culture are still the areas of teaching dedicate most time and you must be prepared for a lot of homework, and read a larger part of the curriculum up as self-study.
First of all, Egyptology language subject, focusing on middelægyptisk where you learn to read all the hieroglyphs are written on papyrus. You will later be able to expand your knowledge of the different types of hieroglyphics found, then you will become a specialist in language understanding of the kind and could lead the next Indiana Jones expedition.
