Politiken Publishers have printed a novel competition in collaboration with Politiken. The winner gets 250,000 kr.

If you have a budding author stored in your stomach, it is now you have the chance to close it out. Politiken Publishers has just a competition, where the goal is to write a broad contemporary novel, and it should be about what it means to be human right now in this time. Two years ago they had a huge success with a crime novel competition so pure thrillers are not eligible for the competition, but if there is a good story about the present with a tension element, then it's alright. The only conditions are to participate, is that you must be 18 years old, the novel will be about how it is to be human right now, and so it shall be written in Danish. In addition, it should be finished, that is thoughtful and thorough, even if there will be made some editing work on it.

Facts about competition

Manuscripts should be submitted in January 2013. The jury that selects the winner consists of: Lars Ringhof (literary agent) Adam Price and Merete Pryds Helle (authors) Stephanie Surrugue (journalist) Charlotte Weiss (publishing director) Jes Stein Pedersen (literary editor) winner will be announced on 31 May.
