The American band was formed back in 1989 by Page Hamilton and has since then been a great inspiration for the hard metal and rock scene. Page Hamilton originally came to New York to study jazz, but was greatly fascinated by Sonic Youth, Killing Joke and Big Black, who inspired him to form band Helmet. The band quickly became the American East Coast response to an underground sensation. Helmet is best known for its pioneering nature and had videos running on MTV and also had their music on multiple soundtracks.
