3 tips for cheaper car as students

So fun is just not running in train and bus every day. And a car in Denmark - our large registration notwithstanding - you can actually get at low prices.

You can even treat your car as an asset and thus end up making money on it or at least not spend so much money on it that you otherwise have the opportunity.

We come here with 3 tips on how you as a student can have a car without it ends up ruining you.

Buy used, but from good brands

You can get excellent used cars from about 20,000 kroner. Here you can buy vehicles like a Volkswagen Golf , Seat, small Ford cars and Peugeot'er. If you have the opportunity to collect 40-50,000 kroner you can actually buy a very decent car.

You can also find cheaper cars for example from Dacia, who bought old Renault drawings and manufacture cars in Romania. But one thing is what you are buying your car. Another thing is how much you continually have to pay in insurance, service and repairs of your car. Even if you buy your parts for a good price eg at Bilde leekspert.dk it costs several thousand crowns extra each year with a car purchased a little too cheap to start with.

Rent out with gomore

Once you have your car's starting point is that it costs you money to have every single month. Your car is in relation to your wealth is not an asset but a liability. The car takes money out of your pocket every month.

You can change the relationship and start making money with your car using gomore.

Especially if you live in one of the larger Danish cities of Copenhagen, Aarhus and Aalborg have you relatively easy to get hired your car out in one or more days at a time. The one who borrows the car providing it also with a full tank again. A few days a week, you therefore have to take the bus or carpool with others. While you rent your car out serving you easily 2-300 kroner a day on it.

Have you spending on car loans, insurance and service, for example, 2,000 kroner a month - which is very realistic for a cheap car suitable for students - you must therefore not rent more than a maximum of one third of the month for your car practically free have.

Share with others (remember insurance!)

You can also buy your car with fellow students and share it. If the car is idle, you can take it. Half the time you may have to take a train or a bus, but it's luxury when you can actually take the car.

However, please note here especially on the insurance. If you purchase along with one of your classmates should both persons are written into the insurance. If you share your car with a friend who has more accidents in the luggage and solid driving in your car, there may be challenges in getting compensation paid for the insurance, when also your friend driving your car to pieces.

It is better to address the problems in advance and pay the necessary insurance to both students may be allowed to use the car.
