Education for sign language interpreter continues in Århus

There must still be trained sign language interpreters in Aarhus. The Ministry of Education will now initiate the development of a new and more modern education.
In March launched Education Tina Nedergaard a study to illustrate the need for a long-term solution for sign language interpreters program, including the Department of Business. The analysis, which is now finished, shows: * the continuing need to train sign language interpreters both in Copenhagen and Aarhus to ensure the greatest possible candidate basis and to meet the need for sign language interpreters in all of Denmark * to University College UC Capitol should continue having the total supply to ensure a highly professional environment, * that the training should be adapted to the changing needs of interpretation, * that the students in Aarhus should be offered a better study. "When we asked for a study of sign language interpreter program, it was to get a solid basis to assess the program's future. The study shows that it will be difficult to close the program in Aarhus. This applies both to the students, but also in the labor market sense. I have therefore decided that the sign language interpreter program in Aarhus continues for several years, and the need to develop a new training tailored to the changing needs of interpretation, "said the minister. The Ministry of Education will now initiate work to develop a new and more modern education, which will make it more attractive to prospective students and the labor market.
