Education Minister Troels Lund Poulsen participate in an international summit on teaching profession in New York. During the visit, the Minister will also meet with the US Education.

Focus on best practice

Focus on meeting the International Summit on the Teaching Profession are mainly primary schools. Subsequently, Troels Lund Poulsen attend the conference Celebrating Teaching and Learning. Based on the knowledge that the OECD has collected in recent years, the Summit shed light on internationally interesting best practices. Meeting with US Education

Troels Lund Poulsen participates in a bilateral meeting with US Education. "We must learn from each other's experiences. Denmark has, based on OECD cooperation implemented ambitious reforms in the basic school. The goal is that the Danish school system is among the five best in the world. Therefore, we have implemented a 360-degree review of the Danish schools, and the government has put forward a proposal for a better school with 19 concrete initiatives, inter alia, the training of teachers. It is an ambitious project, the Government will implement, and I am, therefore, to the inspiration that we get to the summit and the visit to New York, "says Troels Lund Poulsen. The visit puts key issues in the Danish education on the agenda: * Teacher Recruitment and teacher training * Professional development, support and retention of teachers * Evaluation and remuneration of teachers * Teachers' commitment to reform in education.
