Award ceremony for the celebration party for Hans Christian Andersen
Every year since 1996 has been awarded an honorary prize to people who have managed to create a story and raise awareness about Hans Christian Andersen and his adventures in a new way.
This year, three candidates who receive the price for their own actions.
As odense idea has Hans Christian Andersen deep under the skin and that is why it can be incredibly exciting to look at his works with new eyes and get a new angle on each adventure. But Hans Christian Andersen is not only a local hero. He is very popular throughout the world, in countries including China. Here is a special tradition of the poet and fairy tale writer.
This year found three candidates who have made something special compared to the knowledge and dissemination of Hans Christian Andersen and his work. The three candidates are:
Johan de Mylius - Professor at SDU, which is selected based on its significant and life-long research and dissemination of Hans Christian Andersen
Kasper Købke - A very talented illustrator who has managed to create original illustrations for Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tales in the 2016th
Wenjie Li - Chinese researcher who in 2014 wrote a Ph.D. thesis on Hans Christian Andersen prevalence in China and the importance it has for the Chinese and the reasons for the great popularity. This has even had an impact on the understanding of the language and cultural translations between European and Chinese.
The stage is set for a major cultural celebration when the event takes place on Sunday. April 2 pm. 15.30 at Odense Theatre where Culture Mette Bock (Liberal Alliance) and Odense's mayor Peter Rahbæk Juel will stand for the awards ceremony.
Besides the presentation of the three achievement awards will be entertainment by the Royal. ballet school in Odense, entertainer Søren Dahl from Cafe Hack, readings by actor Olaf Johannessen, the Funen Opera, Kai Stensgaard on marimba, Ingrid Kristensen Dance Company and parade.
