Sign up for a trade union
When you are a student, it is important that you sign up for a trade union. There are erroneously many students who think that is unnecessary. Many do not really know what a trade union is to be used for, or for that matter, what they offer. Trade unions may seem like a boring subject, but there are actually several good reasons why you should know them and sign up. That's why we've made a guide to what a trade union is and why you have to remember to sign up for a while you study.
What is a trade union?
A trade union is an organization that helps people who have a job and get a salary. When you are a student, you do not have to go to the labor market for a long time, if you do not already have a job job, so it is important that you sign up for a trade union.
Trade unions will do anything to help you to get the best work experience. In a trade union you can get legal help, for example. If you have had a job injury, you have a long-term illness if disagreements have occurred in your workplace, if you have to pay a salary, etc.
Trade unions can therefore help you avoid situations where you do not know your rights or where to stand alone without any help.
Advantages of unions
We can not stress enough how important it is to join a union and when you are a student you can often get good benefits. In addition, there are also many trade unions that offer free membership for students.
As mentioned earlier, legal assistance is a huge advantage, as it can be hard to know even what one's rights are in the labor market.
In addition, trade unions also offer their help when you have written a job application and a resume, which can be alpha and omega when you need a job. Employers always get the first impression of you based on your application and CV, and therefore they must be in the closet.
Have you got a job, they will help you to read your employment contract so that you are sure that it complies with the rules that apply.
Trade unions offer, depending on which industry you are going to work in, including courses, meetings and lectures, all contributing to make you stand even sharper in the labor market.
Which trade union suits me?
It does not matter which trade union you are signing in. There are trade unions that specialize in eg. sellers, teachers, self-employed persons, communicators, etc. Such a trade union only takes up members belonging to their specific industry. But there are also unions, which are more interdisciplinary ie. a trade union where everyone can join.
It is up to you which trade union you will choose. You should therefore find out if you would like to be in a trade union that fits specifically for your education or if you would rather be in a broader union.
Take some time to find the very right union so you can meet your needs as best as possible.
The difference between unions and a-boxes.
Trade unions are responsible for your safety when you are in work or have to do so, whereas an a-box helps you when you have become unemployed. An unemployment fund will pay unemployment benefit to you if you have become unemployed so you do not end up receiving cash benefits. To receive unemployment benefit you must have been a member and paid to an unemployment fund for a year and if you have become a member of your education for less than a year, you can only receive money 1 month after you finish your training. A-boxes are therefore only important when you have left more than a year left of your education.
We hope that with this guide you have gained more control of what a trade union is and why it is so important to you as a student. Sign up for a trade union today!
