The airport through a different lens

With the exhibition The airport through a different lens shows Copenhagen Airport, how a busy airport looks when its airline paralyzed by the forces of nature. From June 29 to the examination hall between Terminals 1 and 2 at Copenhagen Airport experienced the exceptional situation that indtræf in April, when the ash cloud put a stop to all air traffic over Copenhagen. When the Danish photographer Ulrik Jantzen got canceled his reporting trip to Thailand in the spring, he saw an opportunity to document something as rare as a completely deserted airport.

When man hit by a force major

Through the small week, where several hundred thousand people were stranded in numerous airports, walked Ulrik Jantzen around Copenhagen Airport as alone in the world with his camera. Jantzens reportage captures sharp the deafening silence that characterized the airport during the ash cloud, as a sharp contrast to the buzz that usually characterizes the great work. The forces of nature had great consequences for many as the total of 3,500 departures and landings were canceled. With the photo exhibition puts Copenhagen Airport an artistic angle of the six unusual day. At the performance lasts until 31 January 2011 and it is free to enter.
