FVU helps the Yen get an education
"You have 316 all over, and can you remember what this is?" FVU teacher Hanne Salling Norberg looks questioningly into the classroom at CLAVIS, after which she explains the mathematical rules. The class is filled with inquisitive students who want to learn more about mathematics. Also in the class is Yen Trihn, who for one year has lived and worked in Denmark. Despite being only one year in Denmark, the vocabulary is already big, and the conversation runs smoothly.
Yen wants to get paper on her competences, since she does not believe that the papers she has from her school in home country Vietnam, are known enough in Denmark, to be able to take an education here.
"I think FVU is a good way to get an education in Denmark," she says.
FVU at CLAVIS in Aarhus can actually pave the way for an education - and then it is even free. It can be in the form of the right proof for recording requirements, or in the form of help for better task description - and thus higher grades. It can also be academic reading, study technique and oral, which can also help with better grades.
Yen dreams of becoming an educator or nurse, and FVU-courses in Danish and mathematics at CLAVIS language & competence must help her.
"I want to help people and talk to them," says Yen. She knew that she had to do something to get better at Danish and mathematics, and therefore she started for FVU education, and she did not regret it, because both FVU in Danish and mathematics have helped her a lot.
"I had forgotten many of the rules in mathematics, but now I know them again and use it in my everyday life," explains Yen, and says that she, for example. uses math when shopping.
