Is your university degree relevant to the labor market?
Almost half of new programs at universities in Denmark are not relevant to the labor market, it concludes a study from the National Accreditation Institution. The study has been based on 331 existing programs as well as 99 new ones in the period 2010 - 2012. Specifically, it means that you as a student may have taken or be an education that is not demanded by either the public or private.
Anette Dørge, director of the Danish Accreditation Institution, says to Berlingske:
"It is clear that it is important that education is relevant. Not just for work but also for the students. If they can not, it may have the consequence that they take courses without a defined social and vocational orientation"
Sofie Carsten Nielsen (R), Minister of Education, says to Berlingske:
"It is frankly an issue when so many programs do not have a proper and direct contact with the labor market and the jobs that they have to send their candidates out to"
