Therefore, you should have an unemployment fund as students
There are many students who either are or intend to become a member of an unemployment fund. It's a shame, as there are many advantages to join a relevant unemployment fund already as a student. You can get free membership at various unemployment insurance funds
There are a number of Danish unemployment funds that give students the opportunity to become a free member of their fund. - You must be students of an education that has a duration that sounds at least 1.5 years, which is equivalent to 90 ECTS credits.
- To be entitled to unemployment benefits after training there is a requirement that you have an address and stay in Denmark at the start of the course and of course graduation.
- The law dictates, however, that only can be given free membership (free of fees) for one year at a time for a period which, added to extend over five years. Therefore there must also apply for the quota exemption each year.
- The exemption from the quota ends when your training is completed, if you choose to drop out or when you turn 30 years.
- It is not allowed to receive other public benefits beside the quota exemption - it counts both the pension, rehabilitation, social assistance, etc.
- Gross income from employment, SU, SVU or similar shall not exceed the maximum daily allowance for the year you received free trial membership, otherwise there is no possibility for exemption from the quota.
A fund membership as students provide other benefits
It should of course be mentioned that you can get other benefits of being a student and simultaneously join an unemployment insurance fund. It is of course also means that there are also other reasons for having to join an unemployment fund, although you still just students.
