Christine Antorini presents the EU Presidency's education and youth program

Tuesday, January 24 presents for Children and Education Christine Antorini the Danish Presidency's program on education and youth in the European Parliament's Culture Committee.
There are many Danish ministers on a visit to Brussels this week. Ministers must each present Presidency in the relevant committees in the European Parliament in Brussels. Child and Minister of Education in the Culture Committee Tuesday, January 24, 2012 to present the items on the agenda of the Council of Ministers for Education and Youth.

Better Education for more

The biggest case of children and the Minister of Education area during the Presidency are the negotiations on the proposal for a new education and youth program "Erasmus for All". It will stimulate the future framework of mobility and institutional cooperation with countries in and outside the EU. "More and better education is an important part of the answer to Europe's challenges. Europe's workers have the sufficient and necessary skills is a completely unavoidable part of getting laid the foundation for future competitive labor market in Europe. Because of the economic crisis and high youth unemployment in several Member States there is a strong focus on how we at European and national level can create better education for more. It is also an area that has a high profile in the European Parliament, and I look forward to a vigorous debate with MEPs, "said Children and Education Christine Antorini.

Debate on education and employment

Christine Antorini also get the opportunity to discuss education and employment when she later in the day will speak at a conference organized by the European Economic and Social Committee. The conference has the theme "The economic crisis, education and the labor market" and the children and the Minister of Education should introduce a debate on "Education as a driver for smart growth."
