UCC offers now a nurse education, where about 80 percent of training time takes place on the internet and the rest as normal teaching.

Deputy Head of Nurse Training Nordsjælland hope it comes to attracting new types of students since the program is very flexible. "If you have work, family or live to far from the educational institution, it can be difficult to make time for a regular full-time study with fixed working hours and daily shuttle back and forth to the educational institution," explains Merete Rasmussen boards. "Therefore going on most of the teaching on the internet, while we try to organize the training based on the needs of participants. Students choose for themselves when their study activity is located, and the physical activities are mainly outside normal working hours', explains Merete Rasmussen boards. The untraditional approach occurs as a reaction to the declining number of applicants who are in training . "We hope that the web-based studies will attract a different type of student nurse training - and prevent the looming shortage of nurses." Says Merete Rasmussen boards. The training will turn to those who may already have an education, but who wants to change tracks. Or people that never got taken advanced education program, or perhaps a health professional. The first team starts in autumn 2009, and Merete Rasmussen boards promise that the training will provide the exact same skills and professional skills in the ordinary education.
