Better opportunities for scholarships for education abroad

A recently proposed legislation makes it possible to get international scholarship for graduate programs, lasting longer than two years, and to Erasmus Mundus master's programs.
Danish universities have found it difficult to enter into agreements with foreign universities to participate in the Erasmus Mundus programs. Science Minister therefore in January 2010 introduced a bill no. L 119 in order to change the University Act. This bill also requires a change in the SU-law, in the case of the study abroad. Therefore, the Minister of Education Friday, March 5, 2010 introduced a bill that improves the opportunities for foreign scholarships to Erasmus Mundus programs. The bill also makes it possible to get international scholarship, though a master's degree is equivalent to more than two years. This is the result of a progress report on the study abroad, which entered into force on 1 July 2008. The bill authorizes the Minister of Education to limit how long a foreign education can be included in the list of courses that qualify for international scholarship.
