AAU student wins Songwriters Battle
A music students from AAU won the title of this year's songwriter. Ahead lies concert jobs and sparring with professionals.
The music fills the moment everything in the 24-year-old Kathrine Søndergaard Pedersen's life. All day slaving she in her fourth semester project of Music, where she read on the new line in popular music and audio production, and at the same time, she has found time to attend the annual Songwriters Battle of Skråen.
- I wanted to test myself and my music from. One is to sit and write songs at home in the apartment, but something else is to lead them to a larger audience. However, I had no expectation either to advance or to win for that matter, since it was a very strong field in both the semifinals and finals, explains Kathrine Søndergaard Pedersen.
Musically multitalented
Still, it was exactly what she did. A panel of 20 people from the music industry chose namely to end Katrine Søndergaard Pedersen Year songwriter talent. The award includes 5,000 kr., A series of gigs over the summer and sparring with professionals. For Kathrine Søndergaard Pedersen is therefore no need to sit and potter with his music alone. Her special talent for writing expressive lyrics in both Danish and English will now be shared with a larger audience.
- Actually Trades my songs about ordinary everyday emotions. My first single City Of Mine trades for example, to feel small in its high expectations for themselves and to dream of a better place than where you are, underlines a tired but happy prize winner, who incidentally not only has a special talent for singing. She also plays both guitar and piano.
