Summer vacation is over us and you may have saved together for a summer vacation, but where should you go?  

Many tourists choose the known charter destinations such as Greece or Spain when they travel for summer vacation. But if you are into adventure and experiences and fewer tourists, it may make sense to explore other travel destinations that are either more alternative or perhaps just overlooked.

1: Bosnia and Herzegovina
The country has a brutal history of ethnic cleansing and mass murder that has kept tourists and visitors at a safe distance. 2: Norway

4: The Transsibirian Railway
Take a fantastic train ride across seven time zones and experience Russia, Siberia, Mongolia, China, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and India along the way. Get off at the various stations along the way and sleep with the locals as you wander around in the endless scenery and taste the local delights.
