Debate at University of Southern Denmark: Where are we ten years after the terrorist attack on New York September 11, 2001?
On 11 September it ten years ago, the US was hit by one of the worst and most violent terrorist attacks that the world had ever seen. A tragic event that changed the world and brought terror and the fight against terrorism at the top of the security agenda. Ten years after inviting the new Center for War Studies at the University for an open discussion event to reflect on how 9/11 has changed our perception of power, law and international order.

Debate on the impact and future

The event 9/11 10 years after: Power Politics and the Liberal Mind take place on 12 September at. 14-16 in local O100 at the University of Southern Denmark in Odense. Debate The event sets include focus on the following topics: What impact has the fear of terrorism had for human rights? How has the US counterattack in Afghanistan and Iraq upset the world balance of power? How we think from here and get educated future conflict solvers?

The speakers are attached to the Centre for War Studies and the new program in international security and international law, which is the first of its kind in Scandinavia. The program as well as the research center brings together the political, legal and ethical dimensions to be handled in interaction in modern conflicts. The event will be in English, as a large part of the students in the new program are foreigners. Source: SDU
